This
two-day event will be the fourth and final workshop organised by the Working
Group on Asynchronous Circuit Design (ACiD-WG) as part of the European
Commission's 5th Framework Programme (IST-1999-29119).
It is the first ACiD-WG
Workshop to be held in

SWOT Analysis of Globally
and/or Locally Asynchronous Circuit Design
The primary aim of this
workshop is to agree and articulate an understanding of the Strengths and
Weaknesses of asynchronous circuit design, as well as the Opportunities and
Threats for its wider use in the semiconductor industry. The purpose of such an
analysis is to encourage technology transfer activities in areas we are strong
and where the greatest opportunities lie.
As in previous workshops,
technical presentations on asynchronous circuit design are also welcome. The final
workshop programme will be organised
around the research and development work that participants have indicated that
they wish to present.
Although a core of
participants will be experts in the field, potential users from industry
wishing to learn about asynchronous design are encouraged to attend and even to
present their needs. PhD students are also encouraged to use the workshop as an
opportunity to get feedback on their work.
Registration is free, but
early registration is recommended. The final registration deadline is
